This was probably one of the simplest and most rewarding thing I've ever done with just a few lines of Python.
Firstly, I need to present you Lucy Rose, an amazing singer/songwriter and musician, from England.
The first time I actually listened to her, was in a YouTube channel called Watch Listen Tell, she used to play in a band called Bombay Bicycle Club, but now she's solo.
Well, happened that, she did a Latin America tour, where every single concert was going to be organized by her fans.. Yes, she communicated with a specific group of people in every location she was going to perform, in order to organize an event in multiple cities of the whole Latin America.
When I heard about it, I fetched a list she released with all places she was going to play. And guess what? She was coming to Porto Alegre - RS - Brazil, a city 30 minutes by car from where I live.
The event was going to be free, but limited. Which means that just a set of people would actually be able to be there, and being free, something had to be done so the thing was not unfair.
The event organizers posted on Facebook that Lucy was going to tweet an e-mail address at a specific day range. The first 100 people to send an e-mail to that address from their own e-mail, with their names and IDs, would be getting the free pass.
I had no idea how the tweet was going to be, but I knew it would have an e-mail address in it. So I wrote a Python script that was listening to updates on her twitter. For every new tweet, the script was trying to parse e-mail addresses from it, whenever it found a valid e-mail address, it would trigger the logic to send the e-mails. Yes, e-mails. I used the same script for getting 4 tickets, one for me, one for my girlfriend and for two other friends.
One hour before the announced day range, I spinned up the bot in a raspberry. This was her tweet in that day:

In the end of the concert, I was able to have a quick chat with her and get her signature on a poster. ❤
